Recovery is work. That is the basic premise I take in my treatment focus. We all encounter difficulties and unforeseen problems along life's journey, but how we overcome them is what defines and shapes us. My role in this journey is to walk by your side and teach healthy coping strategies to successfully navigate through life's problems. The first step is having the understanding that recovering from any problem takes effort from all involved, myself included. In my practice, I take an integrative approach to treatment utilizing various elements of cognitive-behavioral (CBT), person-centered, solution-focused, strength-based, and acceptance & commitment (ACT) therapies. Having a wide array of treatment options allows for the needed flexibility to treat the vastly different problems that we all encounter.

I have spent the past 15 years working for community mental health agencies wearing a variety of different hats. My experiences encompass therapy and counseling of all ages of the lifespan, individual and family work, running prison re-entry programs, and performing outreach to the homeless in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.  Additionally, I have provided psychological consulting services for the court system assisting attorneys in interpreting psychological reports and tests, while helping to improve their understanding of the impact of mental health issues in their cases.  I also specialize in reunification therapy, assisting to reestablish the parent-child alliance so that they can progress into having a healthy and nurturing relationship.

If you are in need of support and willing to confront your issues head-on in a safe and confidential setting, then I am ready to help.
